Citizens Memorial Hospital earns Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge
Citizens Memorial Hospital earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, recognizing the hospital’s commitment to publicly reporting patient safety and quality information through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
The Leapfrog Group awards the Full Transparency Badge to hospitals that complete, affirm and submit all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, a national voluntary reporting program focused on patient safety, quality and transparency.
“Transparency is part of earning the trust of the people we serve,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO of Citizens Memorial Hospital. “Completing the Leapfrog Hospital Survey is one way we show our commitment to being open about our performance, learning from the results and continuing to strengthen the safety and quality of care for our patients and communities.”
CMH supports that commitment through a systemwide focus on quality improvement and patient safety. The organization uses high-reliability practices, monitors key quality measures and applies what it learns to improve care for patients and families.
“We applaud Citizens Memorial Hospital for its commitment to transparency,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “Transparency is one of the most powerful drivers of improvement in health care. By fully participating in the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, CMH is helping patients and families access meaningful information about the safety and quality of their care.”
The Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge appears on Leapfrog’s public ratings website at ratings.leapfroggroup.org and identifies hospitals that have committed to publicly sharing information about their performance.
