Terri Scalley named March 2026 CMH DAISY Award recipient

Terri Scalley, RN, received the March 2026 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Scalley is a registered nurse with Home Care Services at Citizens Memorial Hospital.

Scalley was nominated by a patient and his wife, who praised her skill, leadership and compassionate care during a difficult recovery at home after a lengthy hospital stay and surgeries.

The patient shared that he returned home with wounds requiring ongoing care and treatment.

“Terri immediately took charge,” the patient wrote in the nomination. “She removed the pump and bandaged all the wounds.”

The nomination highlighted Scalley’s expertise and reassuring presence.

“She came to every visit with her sweet, friendly, confident smile,” the patient shared. “As two weeks went by, she taught my wife how to bathe my wounds, to replace the bandages and to wrap my legs.”

“Terri was like an angel to us,” they wrote. “She didn’t just bring healing; she brought comfort, hope and such a feeling of security.”

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The international program recognizes nurses who provide extraordinary care.

CMH began its DAISY Awards program in January 2019. A nurse from CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation receives the award each month.
