Brittany Hardman receives CMH DAISY Nurse Leader Award
Citizens Memorial Hospital recently awarded the DAISY Nurse Leader Award to Brittany Hardman, RN, director of nursing at Community Springs Healthcare Facility.
Hardman was nominated by a fellow employee who praised her leadership, compassion and consistent support for both residents and staff.
“Brittany is the best DON I have worked with in almost 20 years of nursing,” the employee wrote in the nomination. “She is genuine. She cares for her staff. She cares for her residents above and beyond.”
The nomination also highlighted Hardman’s hands-on leadership style, noting it is not unusual to see her working on the floor alongside staff and stepping in wherever she is needed.
“She will come in no matter day or night to help out,” the nominator shared. “She does it all with a smile on her face."
Hardman is known for her steady leadership and commitment to both residents and staff. The nominator described her as humble and steady, rarely showing stress or frustration despite the demands of her role, and added that the facility is “truly blessed to have her as management.”
About the DAISY Nurse Leader Award
Today’s complex health care environment places increasing demands on nurse leaders. CMH believes leaders who create a culture of compassion and recognition for others also deserve to be recognized.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award is part of the international DAISY Award that recognizes extraordinary nurses. CMH began its DAISY Awards program in January 2019 and added the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in April 2023. The award committee selects three nurse leaders each year.
