CMH to host Guys Blox Night for students ages 9-13 and mentors
Burgers, building and mentorship highlight inaugural event
Citizens Memorial Hospital will host Guys Blox Night, a free, guys-only evening designed for students ages 9-13 and the supportive adults in their lives. The event is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at The Bello Venue in Bolivar.
Guys Blox Night combines hands-on fun with meaningful conversation in a positive, encouraging environment.
Participants will enjoy LEGO building competitions, a gourmet burger bar, guest speakers and door prizes while hearing from trusted community leaders about the physical and emotional changes common during this stage of growth. Adult mentors, including dads, uncles, grandfathers, teachers, caregivers and others, are encouraged to attend and participate alongside the students.
Speakers include Jeffrey R. Frerking, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician with CMH Pediatric Clinic in Bolivar, and Ron Bandy, Bolivar R-1 Schools track and cross country coach.
“This inaugural event provides a positive, guys-only environment where students can have fun, build confidence and learn more about the physical and emotional changes that often come with this stage of life,” said Tara Akins, director of community relations and development at CMH. “Our goal is to create a welcoming space for connection, encouragement and growth.”
The free event includes dinner and door prizes. Limited-edition 2026 T-shirts are available for $10 each. Space is limited, and advance reservation is requested.
