Medical Student Elective Rotations

CMH helps student nurses and recent nursing graduates become exceptional nurses. Our "earn-as-you-learn" training model enhances nursing clinicals. Nurse residency helps recent graduates become confident bedside nurses.

CMH provides an enriched clinical experience for student nurses. We do this with our "earn as you learn" training model. Students in LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse) programs may apply.
Nurse ApprenticeshipCertified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
Get your Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification within the first four months of employment at CMH. We will pay you to complete free CNA training courses, and you can receive up to a $2,500 retention bonus.

Apply OnlineCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) Advancement Program
You will become a Certified Medical Assistant through on-the-job training. You will learn skills at one of our primary care clinics. You may begin the program after working in a clinic for 90 days and with a positive supervisor referral.

- Complete the program within one year of hire

Pharmacy Students
Pharmacy Internships
CMH welcomes interns from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.

Certified Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy technicians help pharmacists with daily tasks. They fill prescriptions, process insurance and file paperwork. CMH will help you obtain certification while you work.

Certified Medication Technician
As a Certified Medication Technician, you will work in a skilled nursing care facility. You will help nurses in giving medicine to residents.
You must be an active Certified Nurse Assistant with the state of Missouri for at least six months. The program includes:
- 60 hours of classroom instruction
- At least 8 hours of clinical practice with direct oversight by a supervisor
- Pass a final written examination
- Pass a minimum two-hour final practicum exam

EMT Students
EMT Internship
Get paid to finish the EMT course at CMH and work as a paid, full-time EMT intern. The registration fee also is reimbursable with a signed agreement to work for CMH for one year. The 12-week course begins in June.

Non-Clinical Students
Internships
We welcome student interns in both clinical and non-clinical settings. Contact the manager in the area where you want to complete an internship to learn more. If you don't know who the manager is, contact our Human Resources Office at 417-328-6426.

Certified Dietary Manager
Move up to management positions within CMH Nutritional Services in the hospital or long-term care. CMH will help you complete the nationally recognized Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM®, CFPP®) program. It is through the University of Florida.

- Complete the program in one year or less
- CMH will pay your tuition with a three-year commitment contractual agreement

Social Work Students
Social Work Internships
CMH offers social work internships. They are for students with a Bachelor of Social Work. The students are pursuing a Licensed Clinical Social Worker degree. After graduation, CMH has jobs for LCSWs, LMSWs, and LPCs. The jobs come with great benefits
