CMH joins Show-Me High Value Network to strengthen care close to home
Network will focus on quality improvement, care coordination and value-based care while preserving local independence
Citizens Memorial Hospital is one of 23 independent Missouri hospitals forming the Show-Me High Value Network, a statewide collaboration focused on improving healthcare quality, affordability and value while allowing participating hospitals to remain independent and locally governed.
“Rural hospitals care for the majority of patients across Missouri,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO and executive director of CMH and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “By working together, independent hospitals like CMH can develop shared solutions that strengthen local care and position us for long-term success.”
A cornerstone of the Show-Me High Value Network is a clinically integrated network designed to improve the value of care. It provides a framework for hospitals, physicians and advanced practice providers to collaborate on quality improvement, care coordination, data sharing and value-based care. Hospitals participating in the network collectively serve more than 1.8 million Missourians.
The network also will establish a committee of operational leaders to share best practices, discuss common challenges and identify strategies to improve efficiency across member organizations.
While participants will collaborate through the Show-Me High Value Network, each hospital will remain independent and locally governed. The network is designed to provide the advantages of scale and shared resources without requiring hospitals to give up local decision-making. Additional services will be optional, allowing participating hospitals to engage based on their individual needs.
“At the heart of this work is our commitment to patients,” Calhoun said. “By collaborating with other independent hospitals, we can continue to improve the care we provide while preserving the local leadership and decision-making that are important to the communities we serve.”
Other Show-Me High Value Network partners in the region include Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs and Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton.
