CMH Hospice to offer bereavement support group classes this fall

Citizens Memorial Hospice will offer a seven-week bereavement support group series at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 29 through Nov. 10.

The free support group is open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Sessions will be held in the CMH Community Rooms at Citizens Memorial Hospital, 1500 N. Oakland Ave., Bolivar.

Valerie Noblitt, CMH director of home care services, said the series is designed to help participants better understand grief, develop healthy coping skills and find support throughout the grieving process.

Sessions will be led by Austin McCrickard, hospice chaplain, with assistance from Terry Warren, LCSW; Dustin Preston, chaplain; Kimberly Lannan, MSW; and Connie Duryee, hospice coordinator.

Topics will include understanding grief and loss, managing emotions, coping with life changes, preparing for holidays and special occasions, and finding meaning after loss.

Preregistration is requested. For more information or to register, contact Duryee at 417-326-3585.
