CMH recognizes scholarship recipients at annual reception

Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation recognized recipients of the Medical Excellence Scholarship Program and Club 1982 Scholarship Program during a reception May 7 at Citizens Memorial Hospital.

Established in 1990, the Medical Excellence Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students from the CMH service area pursuing careers in health care. The program includes scholarships for graduating high school seniors and college students pursuing qualified health care degree programs.

This year, the Medical Excellence Program is awarding a total of $106,000, including $89,000 through the Medical Excellence College Program and $17,000 in high school scholarships.

Recipients of the 2026 Medical Excellence College Program scholarships are Gavin Finnell, Layla Huffman, Heath Southwick, Zoe Van Etten, Grace Whalen and Lisa Williams.

Recipients of the 2026 Medical Excellence High School scholarships are Keegan Coffey, Hannah Grant, Chloe Hicks, DaVigha Holt, Evelyn Michael, Haydin Miller, Madalyn McCoy, Kaylynn Morehead, Morgan Nikodim, Macy Pearson, Tymber Pinon, Bradley Richter, Laurynn Sinclair, Abigail Strait, Theodore Trowbridge and Molly West. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship for a total of $17,000 awarded through the program.

The CMH Club 1982 Scholarship Program also recognized recipients during the reception. Funded by donations from CMH employees, the scholarships support employees and their children or grandchildren as they pursue higher education or trade programs. Scholarships awarded through the Club 1982 program totaled $51,000 this year.
