Medical Excellence College Program

Medical Excellence College Program provides scholarships for college students who are accepted into a healthcare-related degree program. The Program award includes a requirement to work at CMH after graduation. You may qualify for more than one year of financial assistance.

College Program Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be interested in working in the medical field
  • Be from the CMH service area
  • Be able to return to the service area as a CMH employee after completing their education level
  • Have a minimum of a 2.5 non-weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale for high school or post-secondary educational coursework

  • Clinical Social Worker
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Medical Technologist
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Nurse Anesthetist
  • Registered Nurse
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Pharmacist
  • Physical Therapist
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Physician
  • Radiologic Technologist
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Speech Therapist
  • Other licensed and/or registered profession as approved

  • Polk County, Missouri
  • Clair County, Missouri

Application Process

Complete the application online, including uploading the following documents, preferably as a PDF or Word document:

  • Resume
  • Personal statement (no more than one page single-spaced)
  • College transcripts
  • Proof of acceptance into the program from the teaching institution
  • Three references – You will submit each reference’s name and email address. The reference will receive an email with a link to complete the reference online. We recommend letting your references know to expect an email from CMH Human Resources.

Application Deadline

CMH Human Resources must receive applications by 5 p.m. on the last day of February for the fall semester and the last day of August for the spring semester. Late applications will not be accepted. Scholarship winners will be selected by late April.

Your application will receive consideration without regard to race, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental impairment or veteran status.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING

To help raise money for the scholarship, the CMH Foundation hosts an Annual CMH Foundation Medical Excellence Golf Classic at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar. The Golf Classic is held in June. Participants will pay an entry fee that goes toward green fees, cart rental, a gift package, tournament prizes, breakfast, lunch, snacks and a dinner after the tournament.

The tournament has six different sponsorship levels ranging from $250 to $5,000. All money raised from this event  goes to the Medical Excellence Scholarship fund.
