CMH Hospice announces annual Heroes for Hospice Race May 2
Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation invites the community to participate in the annual Heroes for Hospice Race presented by Craig Lehman-Shelter Insurance on Saturday, May 2.
Registration is open for the event, featuring a 5K, 10K and a 1.5-mile Fun Run. The race starts at 8 a.m. and includes a wizard theme this year.
Race Details
Starting and ending in front of the CMH Dermatology Clinic, 1125 N. Butterfield Road in Bolivar, the event will include a scenic loop around Dunnegan Memorial Park. The race will be electronically timed to ensure accuracy.
Medals will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, first-place finishers in each age division and special recognition to the oldest and youngest runners. A spirit award will also be presented for the best theme-dressed runner. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite wizard characters.

- Registration ranges from $25 to $40 per person and includes a T-shirt.
- Online registration closes on April 24, 2026.
- On-site registration is available until 7:30 a.m. on race day.
All ages and levels of physical activity are encouraged to attend. Walkers, strollers and pets are welcome. For those unable to attend on race day, a virtual participation option is available for $25. Participants can run/walk at any location and time, receiving a T-shirt to show their support.
About CMH Hospice
CMH Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible at home, or in a homelike setting, with family and friends. The program also provides support to the family after the death of their loved one through a bereavement program.
Proceeds from the race ensure that all terminally ill patients and their families receive physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care.
