CMH presents DAISY Nurse Leader Award to Jenna Hicks
Citizens Memorial Hospital presented the DAISY Nurse Leader Award to Jenna Hicks, MBA, BSN, RN, a registered nurse and director of quality and population health at CMH.
Hicks was nominated by a fellow employee who worked closely with her and witnessed the impact of her leadership.
In the nomination, the employee described Hicks as an “extraordinary nurse leader” and said she is consistently motivating, encouraging and growth-focused. I had the privilege of working directly under Jenna for a little over a year when she was new to her role as director of population health,” the nomination read. “Despite the complexity and scope, her leadership style was consistently motivating, encouraging and growth-focused.
The employee praised Hicks for being an exceptional listener and problem solver who knows when to step in and when to empower others. Under her leadership, the Mobile Integrated Health program was launched and expanded, improving patient outcomes and strengthening community trust in the hospital.
“What sets Jenna apart is her ability to develop and inspire people,” the nominator said. “Her kindness is genuine, her positivity contagious and her belief in her team unwavering. Jenna Hicks is more than a leader; she is a champion for patients, staff and the community.”
About the DAISY Nurse Leader Award
An increasingly complex health care landscape places growing demands on nurse leaders. CMH believes those who create an environment of compassion and recognition for others deserve to be recognized themselves.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award is part of the international DAISY Award program that honors extraordinary nurses. CMH began presenting the DAISY Award in January 2019 and added the Nurse Leader category in April 2023. The CMH DAISY Award Committee selects three nurse leaders each year.
