CMH Hospice’s annual Lights of Remembrance event set for Nov. 10
Citizens Memorial Hospice will host its annual Lights of Remembrance event at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center, 1155 W. Parkview St., in Bolivar.
Hosted by CMH Hospice staff, the event welcomes the holiday season with an evening of reflection and celebration. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Bolivar High School Chamber Choir, directed by Morgan DeClue, and Ron George.
As part of the program, CMH Hospice will present special awards recognizing individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional compassion, service and partnership in hospice care:
- Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, CMH Hospice Light Award
- Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, CMH Hospice Light Award
- CMH Long-Term Care, CMH Hospice Partner in Care Award
- Kristopher Kaufmann, CMH Sue McCoy Hospice Service Award
- Grayson, the Hospice Dog, CMH Gentle Guardian Award
“These awards celebrate the people and organizations who make our mission in hospice possible,” said Valerie Noblitt, director of Home Care Services for Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “Their kindness, generosity and partnership bring light and comfort to families when it’s needed most.”
The public is invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
The Lights of Remembrance event honors loved ones who have passed and supports CMH Hospice’s mission of helping people live fully and comfortably while preserving their dignity in the final stages of life.
Community members are encouraged to donate to the Lights of Remembrance program in honor of friends and family or in memory of loved ones. Donations ensure that all terminally ill patients and their families in the area receive physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care.
CMH Hospice caregivers focus on helping patients remain as comfortable as possible, whether at home or in a homelike setting. The program also continues to support families after the death of their loved one through bereavement services.
