CMH honors Courtney Boland with DAISY Nurse Leader Award

Citizens Memorial Hospital has awarded Courtney Boland, RN, MSN, the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.

Boland is a registered nurse and serves as the director of the CMH Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry. She was nominated by a fellow CMH employee, who praised her leadership, compassion and dedication to staff and patients.

In the nomination, the employee recognized Boland for her willingness to step in wherever needed, whether working directly with patients, encouraging families or supporting staff after a difficult shift. The nomination also highlighted her ability to remain calm under pressure and her skill in communicating with patients, families and fellow health care workers.

“Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our patients, their families and your staff,” the nomination stated. “You are a true angel and the true definition of a DAISY nurse.”

About the DAISY Nurse Leader Award

A more complex health care landscape puts increasing demands on nurse leaders. CMH believes that those who create an environment of compassion and recognition for others deserve to be recognized themselves.

The DAISY Nurse Leader Award is part of the international DAISY Award recognition program for extraordinary nurses. The CMH DAISY Award started in January 2019. CMH added the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in April 2023. The award committee selects three nurse leaders a year.
