Nephrologist earns specialty board certification

Russell Davis, D.O., with Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) Nephrology Clinic in Bolivar, has earned board certification in nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Davis joined the CMH medical staff in August 2024.

To become board certified in nephrology, Dr. Davis must first be certified in internal medicine, complete a fellowship in nephrology and pass a rigorous certification exam.

Dr. Davis earned his medical degree from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia. He completed a residency in internal medicine-pediatrics at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and a nephrology fellowship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

He specializes in diagnosing and treating kidney-related conditions, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, cystic kidney disease, diabetic nephropathy, high blood pressure, kidney stones, kidney infections, end-stage renal disease and urinary tract infections.
