Ashley Vaughn, RN, receives CMH DAISY Award

Ashley Vaughn, RN, is the recipient of the CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for November 2024. She is a registered nurse and house supervisor in the intensive care unit at Citizens Memorial Hospital.

She received the award in December 2024. A co-worker nominated Vaughn for the Daisy Award.

“I wanted to recognize Ashley and everything she does for night shift. Ashley goes above and beyond for everyone. Ashley’s extensive knowledge makes her a valuable asset to the CMH family. She is the most caring and compassionate nurse I have ever met. Ashley shines in critical situations! She is excellent at thinking outside the box and has impeccable time management skills. As a house supervisor, she may be one person, but she takes the time to reach out to everyone every night to make sure all our concerns have been addressed. Ashley is an amazing person inside and out. It’s always fun working with her.”

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.

CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
