“Recently, I was referred to endoscopy, a process that filled me with intense anxiety. Jennifer's approach during this time was nothing short of remarkable. From the moment I met her, her empathy and compassion were evident. She took the time to explain each step of the procedure in meticulous detail, ensuring that I fully understood and felt comfortable before moving on. Her clear and reassuring communication helped to alleviate my fears, and her calm demeanor made me feel genuinely cared for.
“Jennifer's dedication was apparent in every interaction. She never rushed me, patiently waiting for my consent before proceeding. Her presence throughout the procedure provided a sense of security and calm that was instrumental in making the experience as smooth as possible. When I woke up, my immediate impulse was to find Jennifer and express my gratitude for the exceptional care she provided.
“Her ability to make me feel like the most important patient in her care is a testament to her dedication and skill. Jennifer exemplifies the highest standards of nursing care and embodies the values we hold dear at CMH. Her exceptional empathy, professionalism and commitment to patient care make her an outstanding candidate for the DAISY Award.”
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.
CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
