Cathy Bird Wallace named recipient of the March 2024 CMH DAISY Award

Cathy Bird Wallace, RN, is the recipient of the March 2024 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is a registered nurse at the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility.

Wallace’s nomination for the Daisy Award came from a resident’s family member.

“It was always comforting to see Cathy working when I would visit because I knew mom was in great hands and being monitored closely! Though there were many [residents] under her care, I always felt like she had time to talk to me about what was going on with Mom and she genuinely cared about her. She was always professional and utilized every moment of her shift to help patients and families. I can’t say enough positive things, she is definitely top-notch when it comes to her profession!”

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.

CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
