Roy Pace named administrator of Colonial Springs Healthcare Center

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center announces the appointment of Roy Pace, licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA), as the new administrator for the facility.

Pace brings with him 28 years of experience in long-term care with the last 16 years as a licensed administrator or chief operations and clinical officer. Over nearly three decades of work in long-term care, Pace has served in various roles including administrator, COO, CCO, director of nursing, house supervisor, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, certified medication technician, certified nurse aide and activity director.

Pace earned an associate degree in nursing from Missouri State University, West Plains, and obtained his nursing home administrator license in 2007. He is certified as a dementia practitioner since 2019 and has additional training as an infection preventionist. Pace is also a credentialed CNA and CMT examiner and instructor. He is also MDS/RAI trained and a Level 1 Medication Aide instructor. 

Before his healthcare career, Pace served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1991 fulfilling roles including intelligence and airborne paratrooper.

Pace's dedication has been recognized through various awards, including Administrator of the Year from Missouri Health Care Association in 2011 and 2017, as well as Member of the Year from MHCA in 2017. He is a member of the board of directors for MHCA and is the District IV president.

Justin Slack, RN, LNHA, who served as the interim administrator of Colonial Springs for several months, has resumed his previous role as the director of nursing.

Colonial Springs is a 134-bed skilled nursing center. It includes a 34-bed memory care unit as well as a 16-bed high-functioning memory care unit. These units meet the specific needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The facility offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services and operates nearby independent living apartments. Colonial Springs is owned and operated by Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation in Bolivar.
