Benefits of In-School Telehealth
Reduced Absence from Class
Appointments are conducted during school hours, minimizing disruption to education and helping students stay in class rather than travel to off-campus appointments.
Convenient for Parents
Parents can participate by phone or video during the visit. You do not need to leave work or come to the school. Consent is given at the start of each telehealth visit.
Lower-Cost Option
Covered by most local and major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Without insurance, an in-school telehealth visit costs $30, which is typically less than an office appointment. There may be additional costs for necessary testing. Self-pay discounts are available.
Pricing for additional testing:
- COVID-19 Test - $55.20
- Flu Test - $150.40
- Strep - $27.20
- Strep Culture - $40
Prices are subject to change. Please ask your nurse for the most current rates.
About the Program
The telehealth appointments are with providers from CMH Pediatric Clinic and CMH Butterfield Park Medical Center. Each appointment will be assisted by an on-site Navigator provided by CMH, who ensures the visit runs smoothly and efficiently.
The Bolivar School's Navigator will be available by phone Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., when school is in session.
For more information about the program, parents can call or text the on-site CMH navigator at 417-516-4262.
How it Works
For students
- The school nurse will contact you (the parent or guardian) if your child is not feeling well and could benefit from a CMH telehealth visit.
- Next, the Navigator will schedule a telehealth visit with a provider from the CMH Pediatric Clinic through the CMH patient portal and send you an email invitation to the telehealth visit.
- Once you log in for your child's visit, you will sign the consent form for your child to be seen. This form will ask permission for your child to be seen by a CMH provider via telehealth visit and potentially be tested for flu, COVID or strep.
- The CMH provider will conduct the visit and let you know if your child is healthy enough to stay at school or requires further lab tests at the clinic in person.
For Bolivar R-1 Employees
- As an employee, you will contact the school nurse in your building, who will then connect you with the Navigator to assist in the telehealth visit if needed.
- Next, you will log in to your CMH Patient Portal; if you do not have one, the Navigator will help you sign up for an account. The Navigator will then schedule a telehealth visit with a Butterfield Park Medical Center medical provider.
- The CMH provider will conduct the visit and let you know if you are healthy enough to stay at school or require further lab tests at the clinic in person.
