Free memory screenings offered Oct. 13 in Springfield
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) Neurology and Headache Center and the Missouri Memory Center, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, will host free memory screenings Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 S. Brentwood Boulevard in Springfield.
Four sessions will be offered at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Registration is requested. Register online for a preferred time.
Each session will begin with a brief presentation on brain health and resources available in the community. After the presentation, participants will receive a free cognitive screening from the Missouri Memory Center staff.
The screening will take about 30 minutes. Participants will be contacted after the event with their screening results.
Medicare recommends that people age 65 and older be screened annually for cognitive impairment. Younger adults with concerns or symptoms should also be screened. Early detection of cognitive impairment is critical for timely intervention and planning.
