David Tuter receives the November 2024 CMH TULIP Award

David Tuter, a sonographer in the radiology department, has been awarded the November 2024 CMH TULIP Award.

David was nominated by a patient who credits him with saving their life.

“I presented for an ultrasound for a possible blood clot in the leg. Mr. Tuter did his job wonderfully and found the clot very quickly. Yet while there, I had a cough. I stated I regularly get these and was on medicine to get better. Mr. Tuter continued to ask and evaluate me, and through this recognized the need for a chest CT due to possible other conditions. He immediately called my doctor, got the CT ordered and walked me to the ER for continuing care. Through this extra test, multiple pulmonary embolisms were found in my lungs, and Mr. Tuter saved my life!”

The patient also emphasized David’s compassionate approach.

“Many people simply do their jobs well, but Mr. Tuter treated me as a whole. Mr. Tuter could have easily let me walk out that door after completing his job, but because of the caring and thoroughness of his actions, I can say he saved my life. Not only that, but he also stopped in later to check on me in the ER. That is truly the care and service CMH wants to give, and this gentleman lived out every piece of those goals!”
