Amanda Foster receives February 2024 CMH DAISY Award
Amanda Foster, RN, received the February 2024 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is a registered nurse with Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department.
She was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient.
“[Amanda] went above and beyond,” the patient wrote. “She was there for me like a family member would be. She had never met me prior to this day and the fact that she was patient with me and took the time to care for and help me was beyond what I could have asked for… I didn’t feel like one of her patients, nor did she treat me as so. She treated me as if I were family.”
The patient went on to say that Foster was amazing. “She has no idea just how much she helped me. I bragged about her to every single person that came to be with me.”
About the DAISY Award
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.
CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
