Cyndi Zerbey receives January 2024 CMH DAISY Award

Cyndi Zerbey, LPN, received the January 2024 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is a licensed practical nurse with Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Medical Surgical Unit.

She was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient.

The patient wrote: “Kindness, caring, emotional stability, empathy, and compassion were all aspects of her personality that were shown during her care for me… She encouraged me to get up and walk when I was able and even cheered for me when she saw me walking down the hall. Something as little as a clap and a smile goes a long way when you’re not feeling the best. I have had some wonderful nurses during my stay in hospitals, though Cindy was by far the best nurse I have ever had. I hope other patients are able to experience her care, love, and outstanding work as it definitely all shines through with her. Thank you, Cindy.”

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.

CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
