CMH hosts ribbon cutting for Dialysis Center
Citizens Memorial Hospital held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the CMH Dialysis Center on Tuesday, Dec. 16, with more than 250 people present.
“Until now, if you had a need for dialysis services, you had to go elsewhere for your care,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO/executive director of CMH and the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “This center provides the ability to put expertise right here on our campus in terms of dialysis care that will eventually completely transform the way that we care for patients with nephrology diseases and with dialysis needs. Today is one of those historic moments where we say this was really a game-changer in the way we provide care at CMH.”
The CMH Dialysis Center features advanced dialysis technology, a spacious and comfortable treatment environment, and a dedicated team of highly trained nurses and technicians. The facility includes 16 hemodialysis chairs with scenic window views, patient rooms for home peritoneal and hemodialysis education, a welcoming waiting area and specialized support areas.
The CMH Dialysis Center will also be home to the CMH Nephrology Clinic starting in January 2026. Led by board-certified nephrologist Russell Davis, D.O., the CMH Nephrology Clinic provides diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of chronic kidney conditions. Together, the CMH Dialysis Center and CMH Nephrology Clinic will deliver coordinated, patient-centered care in one location.
“We go out of our way to really help people and take care of people because it’s the right thing to do,” Dr. Davis said. “We’re taking care of people from a pretty large distance here, from as far away as West Plains, Springfield, even all the way up near Kansas City. We’re growing faster than I ever imagined.”
Construction began in November 2024 on the 10,488-square-foot facility with a construction cost of $7.3 million. JE Dunn was the general contractor.
