Pomme De Terre and Stockon Lakes offer fishing, sailing, swimming and numerous other opportunities for recreation.
Bolivar is home to two golf courses, six public parks, two fitness centers and 10 public tennis courts. The YMCA provides softball, baseball, soccer, basketball and volleyball opportunities for all ages.
A five-plex movie theater, community theaters, an art museum and a historical museum offer several opportunities to enjoy the arts.
The Frisco-Highline trail is one of several area trails for walking and biking.
Several local stores provide in-town shopping. More stores and outlet malls are just an easy drive to Springfield or Branson.
Education is a priority in Bolivar and the surrounding counties. Both public and private schools are available in the area.
The Bolivar R-1 School District has four attendance centers (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) and serves about 2500 students. Students can enroll in a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs that compete in the Central Ozarks Conference.
