The Missouri State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) for Homeowners program assists in preserving homeownership. The program prevents foreclosure and displacement for Missourians in need through the U.S. Treasury's Homeowner Assistance Fund. The State of Missouri received $138 million to provide relief to homeowners whose finances were negatively impacted by the pandemic. The funds will be used for mortgage reinstatement. More recently, monthly mortgage assistance of up to three (3) months is paid directly to loan servicers. Individuals must have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19. Household income must be at or below 150% of the area median income (AMI).
