CMH to host Lights of Remembrance ‘Cheer-ity’ event Nov. 13

Citizens Memorial Hospice is holding a special Lights of Remembrance event Monday, Nov. 13, from 5:15-6:30 p.m. at the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

Hosted by CMH Hospice staff, the evening will welcome the holiday season with musical entertainment and present special awards to the following individuals/organizations:

  • Bolivar Herald-Free Press, the CMH Hospice Light Award;
  • CMH Health Transit, the CMH Hospice Partner in Care Award; and
  • Hospice volunteers Kent Brummell, Lori Robinson and Rex Warren, the CMH Sue McCoy Hospice Service Award.

The public is invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.

The purpose of the annual Lights of Remembrance “Cheer-ity” event is to honor the life of a loved one, support the Hospice philosophy of living life fully, comfortably and dying with dignity, and involve the community in support of Hospice care.

Individuals can donate to honor family and friends or in memory of loved ones. The lights decorating the tree will be dedicated to those people who are being honored or memorialized. Giving to the Lights of Remembrance program will provide donations in our area to ensure that all terminally ill patients and their families receive physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care.

CMH Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible with family and friends at home or in a homelike setting. The program also provides support to the family after the death of their loved one through a bereavement program.
