CMH prehospital services certified as pediatric ready by Missouri EMS for Children

Citizens Memorial Hospital prehospital services has been recognized by the Missouri Emergency Medical Services for Children program as being Pediatric Ready.

Specific equipment and training needs makes pediatric patients a specialty population with the EMS field. CMH has recognized these needs and has taken steps to ensure their service is properly equipped to treat and transport pediatric patients.

To gain this recognition, CMH was required to confirm with Missouri EMS for Children that its ambulances carry all essential pediatric-specific equipment and has appointed a pediatric emergency care coordinator that acts as a pediatric champion ensuring all pediatric-specific transport needs remain a top priority.

Theron Becker, a paramedic and pre-hospital clinical chief, is the pediatric emergency care coordinator for CMH. He has worked at CMH for more than 10 years.

Missouri EMS for Children is proud to recognize Citizens Memorial prehospital services for their commitment and dedication to the children in the communities it serves.

Missouri EMS for Children is a federally funded grant program whose mission is to reduce child and youth mortality and morbidity resulting from severe illness or trauma.
