Bobbie Woods, a certified nursing assistant and registered medical technician with Ash Grove Healthcare Facility in Ash Grove, was named the October 2021 CMH TULIP Award winner.
The TULIP Award was established June 2021 by CMH and Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation and is a recognition program for outstanding nursing assistants, medical assistants and patient care technicians who assist in direct patient care.
Woods earned her CNA license in 1996 through the nursing assistant program at Webco Manor-Webco East in Marshfield. She has worked for the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility for eight years as a CNA and RMT.
Woods was nominated by a coworker for going above and beyond patient care, having a positive attitude, willingness to help and for showing CMH PRIDE.
The nomination read, “Bobbie was passing meds this day and one of our residents was in the dying process. She wanted to be with me to take care of him every two hours that he needed to be taken care of. I can honestly say that Bobbie is the most caring and hardworking coworker I've ever had the privilege to work with. Every family absolutely adores her and even they can see how much she cares and loves their loved ones. We need more workers like Bobbie! She is awesome!”
When asked what it meant to receive this award Woods said, “It makes me feel appreciated, like people realize you’re going above and beyond.”
Woods appreciates her coworkers and the facility administration saying, “My director of nursing, Cathy Bird, has always inspired me to be the best I can be, even when things are difficult. And administration has been so great as well,” said Woods. “CMH is amazing, I’ve worked many places and I don’t want to go anywhere else.”
