CMH welcomes Dr. Gary R. Highfill, otolaryngologist
Citizens Memorial Hospital announces the addition of Gary R. Highfill, M.D., an otolaryngologist, to its medical staff.
Dr. Highfill, a southwest Missouri native and Fair Grove High School graduate, earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed a general surgery internship and an otolaryngology residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
With more than 24 years of experience, Dr. Highfill has practiced otolaryngology in Springfield and Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He treats ear, nose and throat conditions for adults and children. His specialties include sinus issues, sleep apnea, nasal obstruction, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland surgery, head and neck cancer biopsies, environmental and food allergies, hearing testing and treatment, and tube placement.
Dr. Highfill will begin seeing patients on Jan. 27, 2025, at the CMH ENT & Allergy Clinic in the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center in Bolivar. He will be joined at the clinic by nurse practitioner Ashley Carpenter, FNP-C.
