CMH pharmacy director receives national recognition
Mariah Hollabaugh, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, CPEL, system director of pharmacy at Citizens Memorial Hospital and CMH Foundation, recently earned the Certified Pharmacy Executive Leader (CPEL) credential from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Hollabaugh was one of 16 pharmacy leaders to participate in the most recent cohort of this program. The CPEL recognizes excellence in professionalism, leading people, and leading the pharmacy enterprise.
Launched in 2021, the CPEL is the first of its kind in pharmacy leadership. It acknowledges the unique expertise of pharmacy executive leaders. Hollabaugh is among only 107 pharmacists in the country to earn this credential.
To be recognized, pharmacists must have at least five years of progressive leadership experience, which includes significant managerial oversight and advancing pharmacy practice. Candidates also complete a four-day capstone at ASHP headquarters to demonstrate validated CPEL proficiency, ensuring excellence within and across complex healthcare systems.
ASHP is the largest U.S. association for pharmacy professionals, representing 60,000 members across hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies. Hollabaugh has worked at CMH for eight years and has more than a decade of pharmacy management experience. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Drake University. She completed her pharmacy practice residency at the University of Missouri Health Care and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
